Lubricants can work wonders in many ways – whether you indulge in marathon sex, making things just a little smoother & amp; squishy, or introduce you to some new kind of fun! The bottom line is that lubricants are simply fantastic and absolutely nothing can go wrong when you use a few. If you haven’t bought a bottle yet, here are a few things you should know about it:
1. There is nothing wrong with you (or your partner) when you use lubricants.
Using lubrication does not mean you are not functioning. It’s actually the opposite, using lubricants makes you a sex connoisseurand your own pleasure ambassador!
So, if anyone tries to tell you that something is wrong with you or your body because you used lubricant, then they must have some problem going with them.
2. Do not use oil-based lubricants with condoms.
So, you want to use baby oil or petroleum jelly? Just DO NOT do that with a condom. Using an oil-based lubricant can deteriorate the latex in the condom and that might also cause it to break, which isn’t good news! So if you only use condoms for birth control, you want to give this a miss.
3. Do not use silicone lubricants with silicone sex toys.
Silicone lubricants can cause damage to your silicone eyes. That said, silicone grease is great for playing with water, as water-based lubricants obviously won’t work with it.
4. But silicone works well with condoms.
Silicone-based lubricants last longer than water-based lubricants (which work with condoms and sex toys). Water-based lubricants are one of the most popular types of lubes and the preferred choice for most, but they also tend to dry out very quickly, so you may need to reapply them during your sex-a-thon. So going for a silicone based lubricant is a good choice!
5. The popular form of lubes can cause infection.
According to a 2013 study, women who used a product that they shouldn’t conventionally get into their lady beets like Vaseline or some oil, they were more likely to get yeast and various bacterial infections.
You may also want to stay away from glycerin as well, which may be surprisingly found in many products including water-based lubes. So, it’s very important to read the ingredients too …
6. When nothing else is working, just spit!
It’s cheap (so why not?), Natural and always available. However, if you want longer, uninterrupted sex, this may not be the best idea as it tends to dry out very quickly.
7. No catch-all for what lubricants work for you.
When it comes to your body and your orgasm, research (and trial and error) is key, but remember: everyone’s experiences are unique. What you can do is try and see what puts you in the fast lane for crazy fun.
